Instagram Hides ‘Likes’ From More Users
Instagram influencers are furious over the social media app’s upcoming changes.
The hugely popular picture-sharing platform is testing out a new feature that will hide the number of people who have liked a post.
Instagram users can still see when someone likes their posts, but other users can’t.
Right now, the feature is being tested in seven countries.
The company started testing the feature in Canada back in May.
They just expanded to Australia, Brazil, Ireland, Italy, Japan, and New Zealand.
The head of Instagram recently told ‘CBS This Morning’ that the company is looking at ways to fight bullying, but those likes are important to social media influencers.
Some make big bucks on Instagram.
Kylie Jenner reportedly gets paid $1 million every time she posts about a brand and Kim Kardashian reportedly commands $250-thousand a post.
But that’s a bit more than the average influencer.
According to new stats, Instagram influencers can charge brands $1,000 for every 100,000 followers they have.
And that is just for one sponsored post, which is why some influencers worry that hiding likes could cut into their profits.
