Outrage Over YouTube Star Seen Hitting Her Dog On Video
Outrage over a YouTube star seen hitting her dog on video.
The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating Brooke Houts.
She often uploads videos of her Doberman named Sphinx for her more than 300,000 subscribers, but a recent video has lots of people angry.
It shows Houts hitting, shoving and shouting at her dog; she even appears to spit at it.
Brooke reportedly uploaded uncut footage on accident and removed the video from her YouTube channel after facing backlash on social media.
She posted a lengthy apology on Twitter, writing: “I apologize to anyone who has been affected negatively by the footage and that was not the way I should have handled the situation.”
Houts added, “However, when my 75 lb Doberman is jumping up in my face with his mouth open, I do, as a dog parent, have to show him that this behavior is unacceptable.”
More than 2,000 people have signed an online petition accusing Houts of animal abuse and calling for Sphinx to be taken away from her.
The petition’s creator wants P.E.T.A or The Humane Society to get involved.
