Everything You Need To Know For Charlotte Pride

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade will be held in Uptown Charlotte this weekend, Saturday, Aug. 17 and Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019.

Organizers of the event expect to meet and exceed their attendance numbers from the 2018 event, when over 165,000 visitors attended the weekend event.

Charlotte Pride Festival

Saturday, Aug. 17, 12-10 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 18, 12-6 p.m.
S. Tryon St., between Trade and Stonewall Sts.

The Charlotte Pride Festival is a two-day street festival including nearly 200 vendors in the PNC Bank Festival Zone, as well as several festival attractions, including the Wells Fargo Stage, Charlotte Pride Community Stage presented by Truliant Federal Credit Union, Charlotte Pride Health Fair presented by Amity Medical Group and Rx Clinic Pharmacy, the Charlotte Pride Neighborhood Market presented by Gilead, Flourish: A Celebration of LGBTQ Arts & Culture inside the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, and other attractions. Featuring remarks from local elected leaders, Charlotte Pride organizers, and the official opening of the weekend festivities.

Uptown street closures for the festival are as follows:

Friday, Aug. 16, 2019
9 a.m. — S. Tryon St. CLOSED. Cross streets (4th, 3rd, MLK) remain OPEN for regular traffic. Levine Ave. of the Arts closed to all traffic except vehicles exiting The Green parking deck 4-6 p.m.
Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019
5 a.m. — S. Tryon St. and all cross streets (4th, 3rd, MLK, Levine) CLOSED to regular traffic.
Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019
11 p.m. — S. Tryon St. and all cross streets re-open to regular traffic.

Uptown street closures for the parade are as follows:

Sunday, Aug. 18, 2019
Streets will close as early as 9 a.m. through 4 p.m.: including N. Tryon St. between College connector and Trade St., and Trade St. between Tryon and College Sts. All cross streets will close approximately 12-12:30pm through 4 p.m., and will reopen as soon as possible following the conclusion of the parade.
