911 Calls Released From Officer-Involved Shooting At Gastonia Buffalo Wild Wings

GASTONIA, N.C. — The Gaston County Police Department released the 911 calls from an officer-involved shooting that happened at a Buffalo Wild Wings in Gastonia.

The two 911 calls are from managers of the restaurant.  They tell dispatchers that an armed man is in the parking lot and that he is suicidal.

The shooting happened shortly after police arrived in the parking lot of the restaurant on August 13th on Cox Road near Interstate 85.

The State Bureau of Investigations says 22-year-old James Roberts, Jr. was shot by Gastonia Police Officer Maurice Taylor, III.  However, details on the actual shooting and the circumstances that led up to it have not been released.

The SBI is continuing their investigation and asking anyone with information about the shooting to call their office at 90-781-3000. No other information has been released at this time.
