Third Suspect Charged In January Murder Of Charlotte Grandmother
CHARLOTTE, NC — CMPD says a third suspect has been charged in connection to a double shooting that left one woman dead and another injured in north Charlotte on January 25th.
Lavarchio Brenyon Allen, Jr., 17, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with the Murder of 63-year-old Harriet Cromartie, as well as Discharging a Weapon into Occupied Property.
Two other suspects have already been charged in connection to Cromartie’s death.
20-year-old Nazah Raine James was arrested on Saturday, January 26th, and charged with First Degree Murder, Discharging a Weapon into an Occupied Dwelling or Moving Vehicle and Felony Conspiracy.
On Tuesday, January 29th, CMPD detectives working with the F.B.I and United States Secret Service located and arrested 21-year-old Omontie Oliver Rowe in York County, Pennsylvania. Rowe is charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Conspiracy to Commit Murder, and Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property.
The shooting happened around 8pm on January 25th near the Tanglewood Apartments on Wynbrook Way. Medic says Cromartie was pronounced dead on the scene and another victim was transported with serious injuries.
CMPD says officers found the two female victims inside a car with gunshot wounds when they arrived.
This is an ongoing investigation.
