Suspects Wanted After Armed Robbery Outside Matthews Area Salvation Army

MATTHEWS, NC — Police are trying to find two suspects they say robbed a person at knife point while he was dropping off donations at the Salvation Army.

The crime happened around 7:37pm at the Salvation Army on E. Independence Boulevard near I-485. Police say the victim had just pulled up to drop off donation items when a man and woman approached his truck.

The male suspect brandished a knife, police say, while he and the female suspect began taking bags of tools from the back of the victim’s vehicle.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Police say the suspects are described as a black male and a white female. The man is roughly 5’10” tall, 170 pounds, with short black hair. The woman is around 5’5,” with short blonde hair.

The suspects are believed to be driving a grey over tan late 1990’s to early 2000’s Ford Windstar van with a temporary tag that reads “Georgetown Auto.”
