Two Arrested After More Than 70 Guns Stolen From Statesville Pawn Shop; Police Obtain Additional Warrants

The Statesville Police Department has obtained warrants were for three more people as they continue to investigate the theft of dozens of firearms from a local pawn shop.

Warrants were obtained for Da’Monte Ty’Yon Morrison, Treyvon Latrell Turner and  Dakura Antrone Rickett for Felony Breaking and Entering and two counts Larceny of a Firearm.

Police say additional ammunition and other items stolen from the business were located but no additional firearms were located.

Police in Statesville have made two arrests after 73 guns were stolen from local pawn shop Thursday morning.

Officials confirmed that 73 guns including five rifles were stolen from Bullseye Pawn in Statesville.

Investigators from the Statesville Police Department and, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms worked together to identify suspects and recover stolen weapons.

Authorities were able to recover five rifles, 12 handguns, and a large amount of ammunition.

As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Shanita Howell has been charged as an accessory after the fact.  A fifteen-year-old juvenile has been charged with Felony Breaking and Entering, and Felony Larceny of a Firearm.

Warrants have been issued for 20-year-old Demaja Watts for one count of Felony Breaking and Entering, and two counts of Larceny of a Firearm.

The Statesville Police Department says more charges are expected as the investigation continues.

STATESVILLE, N.C. — The Statesville Police Department says someone broke into a local pawn shop and stole over 60 guns and now they are asking for assistance identifying and locating those responsible.

The break-in occurred on Thursday morning between 1:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. at Bullseye Pawn located at the intersection of W Front Street and Oakland Avenue in Statesville.

Police say 60 handguns and 3 long guns were reported stolen.

A reward of up to $13,000 has been offered for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspects responsible for this crime.
