Lake Arbor Tenants Being Forced Out Make Passionate Plea Before City Council
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Passionate pleas on Monday night from tenants being forced out of a West Charlotte apartment complex.
Residents from the Lake Arbor Apartments spoke out in front of City Council. Facing a Saturday deadline to move out, anger is boiling over for many residents.
For months, residents have complained about poor conditions at the complex off Tuckaseegee Road.
Now, instead of getting the problems fixed, everyone has to move out, after the owner announced plans to “rehabilitate” the complex.
78 families must leave by Saturday — the rest by the end of the year.
Advocates begged council Monday night to do something, but several residents are worried they may end up homeless.
