HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Officials say a bat that tested positive for rabies is the area’s ninth confirmed case for 2019.
An alert will be sent to residents in the Taviston Street area, officials say, after the Mecklenburg County Health Department notified Huntersville Police Department’s Animal Care & Control of the results on Wednesday.
Officials say there was no human exposure, but two domestic cats may have been exposed. Both were current on vaccination however, and are receiving rabies boosters.
