Dorian is a Category 2 hurricane and will continue to strengthen in the next few days. The major issue with this storm is that it is going to become a very slow mover, and with guidance zoning in on a SE FL landfall for a very highly populated area this could cause terrible problems. With warm waters, a healthy upper atmosphere and very little land interaction this storm will likely become a major hurricane over the weekend and make landfall as a category 4 storm sometime late Sunday into Monday. Easily 5-10″+ of rain with isolated 15″ of rain will be possible for the FL coast, along with dangerous storm surge and damaging wind up to 130 mph. As of now it is looking like it will just sit off the coast ala Florence. Where this storm will go next is based on the breakdown of the ridge that is ironically enough giving us the nice weather.
