CHARLOTTE, NC — From local art to panthers football and open streets there’s plenty of events happening around town.
Vica Bondurant from Charlotte Center City Partners has top activities to mark on your calendar.
Friday, September 6th
5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
South End
South End is home to the largest concentration of art galleries in Charlotte and a hopping local art scene.
On the first Friday evening of every month, many neighborhood galleries (and the occasional unconventional space like a design studio or furniture shop) will stay open late to host lively receptions for new art exhibitions with music, food and drink, and an opportunity to meet the artists.
The galleries are always rotating interesting displays of everything from fine art oils and pastels, encaustic cityscape paintings, contemporary glass, jewelry and mosaics.
Also, during First Friday, you can stop by Nebel’s Alley Night Market at 101 W. Worthington Avenue for local shopping, caricatures, live jazz, and more featuring. This month, the night market will feature Plan Alley in partnership with The Sill! Find Charlotte’s favorite plant shops bringing out all things GREEN. You’ll find a plant bar, vintage plant pots, plant-inspired drinks, and other fun finds.
