Man Found Dead On Roadside After Reportedly Being Beaten And Dumped
CONNELLY SPRINGS, NC — Burke County deputies have charged two suspects in connection to a man’s body that was found beaten and dumped on the side of the road Thursday afternoon.
The body of 19-year-old Dylan Deaton was found around 1:22pm on the side of Weaver Lane near Rhodhiss Road. Deputies have charged two suspects, Matthew Buckles and Ryleigh Waldrop, in connection to his death.
A third suspect, Tristian Claude Eugene Shoup, 20, of Granite Falls, is also wanted by authorities for Accessory After the Fact of Unspecified Murder, Felonious, Kidnapping, and Felonious Assault with a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
According to investigators, Deaton was tied up and beaten by several people at Buckles’ home on Raintree Drive. His body was then taken and dumped on the side of Weaver Lane where it was later found.
Deputies have not said how long Deaton’s body was there, or specifically when and how he died. Information on the relationship between Deaton and the suspects has also not been released at this time.
Buckles, 20, is charged with Felony Accessory After the Fact, Kidnapping, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon With Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury.
Waldrop, 28, of Valdese, is charged with Accessory Before the Fact to a Felony.
