CMPD Officer Arrested For Driving While Impaired

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Officials say a police officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department was arrested for driving while impaired.

Officer Nicholas Ivy-Brooks was reportedly pulled over by a Pineville Police Officer just after 2:30am Saturday, September 7th after failing to stop at a red light, according to a news release.  Ivy-Brooks was also charged with driving while impaired.

CMPD says Ivy-Brooks was hired on October 22, 2018 and was assigned to patrol in the Central Division.  A separate internal investigation will be conducted by CMPD, which is stand procedure when an officer is accused of a crime.  No other details have been released at this time.
