Suspect In Custody Following Standoff In York County

ROCK HILL, SC — The Rock Hill Police Department says a suspect wanted on several outstanding warrants is in custody after barricading himself inside a home Tuesday afternoon.

Police say officers with RHPD and agents with the US Marshals Service were attempting to serve multiple arrest warrants on Godseen Williams when he barricaded himself inside a Marion Street home around 2:37pm.

Williams, 22, reportedly surrendered around 3pm after authorities deployed tear gas into the home.

The following arrest warrants were served on Williams following his arrest:

  • Assault on a Police Officer While Resisting Arrest
  • Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon
  • Possession of Firearm by Convicted Violent Felon
  • Possession of a Stolen Pistol
  • Carrying a Pistol Unlawfully
  • Leaving the Scene of an Accident
  • Damage to City Property
  • 2 counts of Armed Robbery
  • Armed Robbery with a Deadly Weapon
  • Criminal Conspiracy
  • Assault and Battery 3 rd degree
