Kristin Cavallari Faces Backlash Over 9/11 Instagram Post
Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari faces major backlash over her 9/11 Instagram post.
Cavallari is blaming a social media staffer for the problematic post and she reportedly fired the employee after it went viral.
The picture, which was posted Wednesday morning, showed Cavallari wearing a low-cut black dress on a New York Street, along with the caption: ‘NYC for 24 hours. And what a time to be here.. always remember.’
Wednesday marked 18 years since the 9/11 terror attacks and lots of Cavallari’s followers took offense, calling the post tone-deaf, disrespectful and poorly timed.
One person commented: “Wrong picture for the sentiment in the post”
Another wrote: “This is super insensitive”
While another wrote: “Today ain’t about you honey. Put a shirt on and grow up.”
The picture’s caption was changed later in the afternoon to simply read: ‘NYC for 24 hours.’
The New York Post’s Page Six is reporting that picture was taken yesterday and was supposed to be posted last night, but Cavallari’s former employee took it upon herself to post it today along with the modified caption.
