Lincolnton Woman Charged In Connection To Gaston County Robbery, Kidnapping
LINCOLNTON, NC — A Lincolnton woman is among three suspects charged in connection to a robbery and kidnapping that took place Monday night in Belmont.
Shamari Jackson, 21, is charged with one felony count each of possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a stolen firearm.
Deputies say two Belmont Abbey College baseball players were forced into a vehicle, which belonged to one of the victims, at gunpoint on Monday.
Jackson and two other suspects, Damarcus Dixon, 23, and Natori Benton, 21, both of Charlotte, then reportedly drove the victims to an area of Gastonia Highway near Brady Hoffman Road and let them out. The victims were not injured during the crime.
Deputies say the suspects took off, and the vehicle was later found abandoned on East Pine Street. Inside the vehicle, authorities reportedly found cash, electronic equipment and a shotgun stolen in the robbery.
Benton and Dixon were arrested Tuesday, according to deputies. Belmont Police have charged each suspect with two counts each of kidnapping and armed robbery, one count each of possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
