CHARLOTTE, NC– On Friday, police responded to a call on Mona Drive in reference to a domestic assault.
The caller advised authorities that her boyfriend, who was reportedly armed with a gun, assaulted her.
Responding officers made contact with the suspect who refused to come out of the residence and barricaded himself inside.
After a standoff with SWAT and speaking with Negotiators, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect identified as Keishaun Harper, 40, was arrested and charged with Assault by Strangulation, Communicating Threats, Domestic Violence Protective Order Violation, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
