Neighbor on Child Sex Charges Against 2 Local Parents: “They Oughta Hang”

CHESTER, S.C. – Dirty siding. A “sorry we missed you” door hanger. And a sheet across a window to deter prying eyes. A house of horrors in Chester, South Carolina, with accusations so troubling, even police struggle to put words to it. “Out of 26 years of law enforcement, I have not yet come across a case that was as disturbing as this one,” says Chester Police Chief Eric Williams.

34-year-old Sara Lacy and 31-year-old Bradley Corlew Senior, both of Chester, facing a slew of charges for what they are accused of doing to children ages two to 11. Four of the kids were hers. Five were his.

Chester Police Victim Services representative MaKeesharia Tobias said at a press conference Friday, “Just know that they (the children) are all in a safe environment.”

The parents, however, are behind bars, with no bond, facing charges ranging from criminal sexual conduct with a minor, exploitation of a minor, and dissemination of harmful material to a minor. More charges could be coming.

What exactly went on behind closed doors inside the home, the police won’t say just yet.

“This is crazy,” says neighbor Michelle Blue. She says she saw the kids, but never the parents. “What in the hell was they doing? You know, to the kids? They make ’em go outside, play a little bit while they get their stuff set up? That’s what goes through my head,” she says. She also says, “I think they oughta hang ’em. I’m serious. When somebody does that to a child, they will always do it to a child.”

Police say the investigation got started in August, when they got a call about domestic violence against the mother. She ended up revealing more. Tobias says, “It is highly unusual. But she did give up all the information freely.”

Corlew could also face domestic violence charges against Lacy. The investigation is ongoing.
