Billy Joel To Play Bank Of America Stadium

Billy Joel regularly sells out big venues like New York’s Shea Stadium and when he hits the stage in Charlotte next April, he will be the first artist to perform at Bank of America Stadium in seven years.

The stadium is rarely used for anything more than football and the occasional soccer match, but it appears that is about to change.
On Tuesday, Carolina Panthers President Tom Glick announced a new deal with concert promoter Live Nation, which plans to bring more big acts to Bank of America Stadium.

“We have been determined over the last several months to add programming to Bank of America Stadium: more events for our city, for our community, and for our region. Live music has been high on our list,” Glick said. “It’s been our priority. And so we’re incredibly excited to announce this morning that we’re back in the concert business at Bank of America Stadium.”

The last big concert there was in 2012, when Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney toured together and only around 35,000 people attended.
Yet, The Rolling Stones did sell out the stadium in 1997.
