Motorcyclist Dies After West Charlotte Collision With Ambulance

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  A motorcyclist involved in a wreck with a Mecklenburg County Medic ambulance, in August, died from his injuries according to the CMPD.

CMPD detectives say 55-year-old Benjamin Franklin Britton Jr. was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson on Morris Field Drive when he ran a red light and collided with MEDIC ambulance, which was turning left onto Wilkinson Boulevard.

Police say Britton was alert and conscious when he was taken to the hospital. Britton died from his injuries on August 19th, 2019.

The ambulance driver was uninjured and there was no one else in the vehicle.
