CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Food truck lovers listen up! Papi Queso is opening their first brick and mortar location tomorrow, October 1st, 2019, at Optimist Hall in Charlotte.
Optimist Hall is a new dining, retail, and office space located in the Optimist Park neighborhood of Charlotte. The grilled cheese specialist, Papi Queso, has been serving the Charlotte are at festivals, food truck gatherings and offices since 2012 and was featured on Food Network’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives in 2017.
“We’ve enjoyed meeting folks across Charlotte and surrounding areas thanks to our food truck, and now we’re ready to lay down roots with our permanent location,” says Brian Stockholm, co-owner of Papi Queso. “Being at Optimist Hall allows us to expand both our menu and our production, which we’re excited about and we think customers will appreciate.”
The new Papi Queso location will feature counter seating and a griddle that will accommodate three times the amount of grilled cheese sandwiches as the food truck.
There will also be new menu items including new grilled cheeses, mozzarella sticks, mac and cheese, and brunch-inspired melts on Saturday and Sunday. Beer, wine, cider, and a daily slushie will be available to sip with your meal.
The menu will feature all of the Papi Queso customer favorites including the Pig Mac, Mac Melt, and Mushroom Gruyere.
“We feel that Optimist Hall, with its curated mix of creative business owners and playful atmosphere, is the perfect place for us to set up shop,” says Shelley Odom, co-owner of Papi Queso. “We are really looking forward to the synergy of the hall, and spending more time connecting with customers.”
The food truck will still be rolling around town and is available for private bookings, according to the owners. For information contact to firstname.lastname@example.org.
