FORT MILL, SC — Fort Mill Police have charged a 16-year-old suspect in connection to a Wednesday night shooting that left another teen injured.
Police say the suspect is a resident of Chester, South Carolina and was arrested early Friday morning. He has been charged with Attempted Murder and placed in the custody of the SC Department of Juvenile Justice.
According to investigators, the victim, a 16-year-old girl from Rock Hill, was standing with a group of people outside of an apartment complex on Forest Ridge Drive around 10:55pm when the suspect approached them and fired several shots before taking off.
The victim was injured in the shooting, police say, and transported to Piedmont Medical Center by one of the other bystanders. No other injuries were reported.
Police have not identified the suspect due to his age, or provided any information on what may have led to the shooting.
