Fall Here for the Long Haul
A brief warm stretch gives way to a cooler, beautiful midweek.
It’s safe now to introduce fall to your parents; it’s ready to go steady. After a brutal summer melted our hearts (literally) with 85 days at or above 90 degrees, we’re finally able to say, “thank you, next,” and open up to autumn. That being said, we will be on the warm side to start out the week, as temperatures hover around the low 80s, but humidity levels will remain low and comfortable for the foreseeable future. Another cool-down comes in by Tuesday afternoon, and from there, sunny skies and comfy highs in the 70s close out the week. While we should all enjoy the beautiful and dry fall weather that’s here to stay, we could definitely use the rain. In fact, the Charlotte area has only had measurable rainfall once in the past 39 days, allowing moderate (and even severe) drought to creep into much of the WCCB viewing area. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting the soaking we need anytime soon, as rain chances remain spotty-at-best for the time being.
