Deputies Identify Two Suspects Wanted In Connection To Stolen Vehicle, Credit Card Fraud
MONROE, NC — The Union County Sheriff’s Office says two suspects wanted in connection to multiple crimes have been arrested.
Malik Nixon, 19, of Union County, and Jada Rivers, 21, of Marshville, are both facing multiple charges.
Investigators say Nixon and Rivers were identified after authorities posted surveillance video showing two suspects using a stolen credit card at a Chick Fil A at Monroe Crossing Mall.
The card reportedly belonged to a victim who had their vehicle stolen from a Wesley Chapel home on Saturday, September 14th. Deputies say the vehicle was later recovered by Monroe Police.
Nixon is now facing numerous charges in connection to 21 separate crimes that occurred over the past several weeks in Union County, authorities say.
Rivers was initially arrested for accessory after the fact to a felony, detectives say, but has now been linked to more than a dozen separate incidents throughout Wesley Chapel. Arrest warrants related to those charges are currently pending.
The UCSO says they are continuing to investigate a series of vehicle break-ins and other property crimes reported over the last few weeks in Wesley Chapel and Indian Trail. Deputies say most of those vehicles were left unlocked.
