Rainy Relief Lingers into Workweek
Despite the clouds and rain, temperatures will remain above average through midweek.
A weak cold front moved through the Carolinas earlier this Sunday morning, bringing an end to the quiet and dry pattern we’ve seen for the better part of the past two months. Although this system is not impressive in terms of temperature drops – we’ll remain above average for the next couple of days – there is a lot of moisture associated with it, bringing some much-needed rain to the drought-stricken areas across the Carolinas. Areas to the south and east of the Queen City could see rainfall totals upwards of an inch through Monday morning. After a brief lull in the action on Monday, a much more impressive rainmaking system looks to move through on Tuesday.
Tonight: Rain tapering off. Clouds clear out later. Low: 56°. Wind: SW 5-10.
Monday: Sunny and warm. High: 80°. Wind: Light.
Monday Night: Clear and cool. Low: 51°. Wind: Light.
Tuesday: Clouds roll back in. PM showers. High: 73°. Wind: E 5-10.
