Charlotte Fire: 2-Alarm Apartment Fire In East Charlotte Intentionally Set
CHARLOTTE, NC — Investigators say the 2-alarm apartment fire in East Charlotte Monday morning was intentionally set. The Charlotte Fire Department tweeted a video showing the building engulfed in flames around 6:20 Monday morning.
The fire happened on Yateswood Drive at the Woodbridge Apartments. Charlotte Fire Department says it took a crew of more than 40 firefighters about 45 minutes to control the blaze.
No injuries were reported.
Officials say the fire was intentionally set, but have not yet released the cause. Damages are estimated at around $500,000.
The building was undergoing renovations following a previous accidental fire.
