CLOVER, SC — A student at a Clover middle school is facing charges after authorities say he threatened to kill two of his classmates.
The York County Sheriff’s Office says the boy is a student at Oakridge Middle School, but will not be releasing his name due to age.
According to deputies, two students reported the threats around 11am to school officials and charges were later filed by the School Resource Officer.
An incident report says the boy made verbal threats that included a threat to “rape” one female classmate before cutting her up into pieces and then killing another female classmate after breaking into her home.
The boy also admitted to sending an anonymous text message stalking threat using an app meant to hide his identity, according to York County investigators.
Deputies say the boy claims his statements were meant as a joke.
The student is being disciplined by district guidelines, officials say, and is also being criminally charged based on witness statements and his own admission.
