Welfare Check Leads To Man Found Decomposing In Lincoln County Residence

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a man was found dead inside his residence earlier this week.

Authorities say a neighbor call and said that he hadn’t seen his friend, 53-year-old Robbie Lee Huffman in a few weeks.

On Monday, Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the residence on Doyle Beam Memorial Road, off of Highway 274, in Vale, North Carolina, to conduct a welfare check.

The responding deputies went to the front door and recognized the odor of decomposition.  Deputies entered the residence and found a deceased male inside lying on the floor.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday, October 17th to determine the cause of death.

More information will be released as it develops. Check back for updates.
