Duke Energy says power has been restored to the nearly 7,000 customers left in the dark for several hours Thursday afternoon in South End.
Restoration efforts continue however for nearly 700 residents still without power in parts of Uptown.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Nearly 7,000 Duke Energy customers are without power in areas spanning from Uptown down to South End.
Duke Energy says the outages are due to an “equipment failure” along the power lines serving the South End area.
The outages extend from South Boulevard at Moorehead Street down to Ideal Way.
Duke says their crews are working to investigate the exact cause and make the necessary repairs. According to Duke Energy’s outage map, restoration is estimated to be around midnight.
