Burned Out License Plate Light Leads To Two Drug Arrests In Lincoln County
LINCOLN COUNTY, NC — Authorities say two people were arrested Thursday on several drug related charges after deputies pulled them over for a burned out license plate light.
A Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy reportedly spotted the suspect vehicle around 1am at the intersection of Highway 18 and NC 27 West Highway with a license plate light burned out.
During the traffic stop, officials say the driver, 41-year-old Joshua Hull of Vale, consented to a search of the vehicle. A 9 millimeter handgun was found under the seat, according to reports, along with a black zippered case containing a bag of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Deputies say the black case had been thrown from vehicle.
Hull is charged with one possession of a controlled substance Schedule II, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a felon.
A passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Ashley Sloan of Lawndale, is also charged with possession of a controlled substance Schedule II and possession of drug paraphernalia.
