Should The Panthers Trade Cam Newton?

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera says this Sunday’s game will be the toughest test yet this season for backup quarterback Kyle Allen.
Allen will get his fifth straight start when the Panthers play the undefeated San Francisco 49ers, who also have one of the best defenses in the league.

“This is a very good football team we’re going to be playing against, Rivera told reporters on Monday. “They’re 6-0 for a reason. You put the tape on, you see a lot of good things that they do. They’re very well coached.”

Meanwhile, Rivera says we may or may not see Cam Newton practicing with the team this week.

“We’re not putting any pressure on Cam. He’s done a great job doing the things that we’ve asked of him,” Rivera said. “He’s gone above and beyond in terms of working with our quarterbacks and helping them along the way. He’s just going to continue to do his program.”

The rumor mill is buzzing with talk of the Panthers potentially trading Newton ahead of the league’s trade deadline next Tuesday.
Several teams are in need of a fresh arm and fans of the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos in particular are tweeting up a storm about Cam.
