How Old Is Too Old To Trick-Or-Treat?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – This year, one American town that has come under fire for its candy collection age limit ordinance is setting the record straight. Officials in the city of Chesapeake, Virginia are tracking down posts and stories that incorrectly explain their ordinance.

The law on the books in Chesapeake says anyone over the age of 14 who trick or treats could get a $250 fine and a misdemeanor charge on their record, but the city points out: no one has ever been fined.

A city spokesperson says the only purpose of the law is to give the police the ability to take action only if something malicious happened, and that their law is intended to keep Halloween fun and safe for everyone.

Our question of the night: should there be an age limit for trick-or-treating?
