CMPD Asking For Help Identifying South Charlotte Armed Robbery Suspect
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The CMPD is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted for two armed robberies at a south Charlotte shopping center.
On Saturday, October 19th at 9:21 p.m., CMPD officers responded to the Stonecrest Shopping Center on Rea Road in reference to an armed robbery.
According to police, the victim was approached by a black man who had a gun and demanded property before fleeing the scene on foot.
On Wednesday October 30th, 2019 at 12:07 a.m., officers again responded to the Stonecrest Shopping Center on Rea Road in reference to an armed robbery.
Police say another victim was sitting in his car when a black man approached his vehicle and demanded property at gunpoint. Detectives say the suspect tried unsuccessfully to enter the victim’s vehicle before fleeing on foot.
Authorities describe the suspect as a black man between five feet eight inches and six feet and around 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a glasses, dark baseball hat, thick black jacket and dark pants. Detectives say he was also seen carrying a blue and white umbrella.
