Ten Kings Mountain Area Businesses Accused Of Selling Alcohol To Minors

KINGS MOUNTAIN, NC — The Kings Mountain Police Department says several business have been issued citations for the sell of alcohol to customers under the age of 21.

The citations resulted from a covert operation called “Operation Brewz-Tober Check,” which targeted 24 businesses throughout the area who hold NC ABC Commission permits.

Of the various convenience stores, grocery stores and other businesses checked during this operation, police say 14 were found to be in compliance with North Carolina State laws regarding ID checks.

10 of those businesses however, reportedly failed to meet the state law requirements.

Police say store clerks/cashiers were issued criminal citations, and NC ABC Permit Violations were also submitted to the State of North Carolina Alcohol Beverage Control Commission for further investigation.
