Four Suspects Charged In Series Of Armed Robberies

CHARLOTTE, NC — Police have charged four suspects they say are responsible for several armed robberies at local businesses.

Michael Meeks, Karon Golightly, Isaiah Harper, and Damar Harden all face charges related to the crimes, which reportedly took place on Sunday, September 8th and Saturday, October 19th.

Around 5:34am on October 9th, police say several armed suspects approached employees outside a business on Walker Branch Drive as they were walking in and forced them into another location inside the business. They then demanded property and took off.

On September 8th, multiple armed suspects forced their way inside a business on Albemarle Road and took property from the business and employee, police say.

The suspects are facing the following charges:

Meeks, 23, is charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and six counts of second degree kidnapping.

Golightly, 18, is charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and six counts of second degree kidnapping.

Harper, 23, is charged robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon, six counts of second degree kidnapping and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say Harden, 22, is currently in Cabarrus County custody, but warrants have been obtained for attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, robbery with a dangerous weapon, two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and six counts of second degree kidnapping.
