STANLY COUNTY, N.C. — Officials say the driver of a semi-truck that crashed into the back of a Stanly County school bus Thursday morning will face charges.
Stanly County School District Superintendent Jeff James says bus #80, which services West Stanly High School and West Stanly Middle School, was conducting a routine bus stop on Highway 24/27 when the accident occurred.

Officials say 12 students on board the school bus and its driver were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
The driver of the semi will be charged with reckless driving, according to the NCSHP.
