Neighbors Rattled After Elderly Man Found Dead In West Charlotte Home

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man killed inside his west Charlotte home.  His family wants answers and his neighbors are stunned by the crime.  79-year-old Curtis Ford lived alone.  His brother says he stopped by his house Monday morning to take him to get a flu shot.  When he opened the door, his brother was dead on the living room floor.

Neighbors told WCCB Charlotte they didn’t hear anything Monday morning until CMPD surrounded their Arbor Glen Community on Spring Forest Drive.

They say Ford was a nice man, who often rode his bike through the neighborhood.  They also say he lived alone.

CMPD initially labeled this case as a death investigation.  Tuesday, they determined it was ruled a homicide.

So far, they have not released how Ford was killed – or any details about a possible suspect.

This is the city’s 96th homicide so far this year.
