CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Cedar Fair, the parent company of Carowinds, has been fined $42,000 after a maintenance worker’s hand was severed earlier this year.
Officials say the incident happened when the worker was inspecting the ride called the Windseeker in March. The worker was reportedly 300 feet in the air at the time of the injury.
Carowinds was fined in September for six serious violations by the South Carolina Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Each of the six violations received a $7,000 fine.
