CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A Charlotte man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for transporting child pornography, according to U.S. Attorney Andrew Murray.
Matthew Stacks, 45, was also ordered to serve a lifetime of supervised release and must register as a sex offender upon his release.
Court documents reveal that Stacks used a peer-to-peer network to access and transfer multiple files which contained child pornography. At Stack’s residence, authorities seized electronic and storage devices.
Investigators determined Stacks possessed over 27,000 images and 32 videos of child pornography. Some of the content depicted toddlers being sexually involved.
Stacks was previously convicted of Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in 2012. He was convicted for a sex offender registry violation in 2013.
On May 15th, 2019 Stacks pleaded guilty to transportation of child pornography. All federal sentences are served with no possibility of parole.
