Chilly, Wet Start to Weekend

The wet weather continues this weekend, thanks to a coastal system that is slowly making its way out of the Carolinas. While rain totals likely won’t be impressive, remaining under an inch for most of us over the next 36 hours, widespread clouds and rain will keep things dreary through the halfway point of the weekend. The increased cloud cover will also make it a struggle to get out of the 40s in the Piedmont and Foothills, while our mountains may not even eclipse the 40° mark. Despite the much-below-average highs, lows will only fall into the lower 40s and upper 30s in and around Charlotte through Saturday night. We’ll be putting the “sun” in Sunday, however, as we clear out and temperatures return to the 50s. Hold on, we could even see the mid-to-upper 60s next week.
