SLED Investigates Deadly Officer-Involved Shooting In Chester

CHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating a deadly officer-involved shooting that happened at a Walmart in Chester Saturday.

Authorities were called to the Walmart on JA Cochran Bypass around 11 a.m. to investigate a shoplifting case.

Shots were fired and a suspect was killed.  No officers were hurt.  Police won’t say if the suspect had a gun.

Walmart closed for the remainder of the day while authorities investigated.  The store will reopen Sunday.
