Cold Sunshine Returns to Carolinas
Below-average temperatures will persist through much of the week ahead.
After nearly reaching the 70s today, expect a much more December-like pattern to settle in for the last month of the decade. Despite abundant sunshine throughout the next several days, temperatures will fall 5-10° below average as we head into the workweek. Strong winds from the northwest will make it difficult to get out of the 40s Monday afternoon. A slow, but steady warm-up begins from there, as temperatures eventually make it back to normal in the mid-to-upper 50s by next weekend. Rain chances will remain minimal until a weak disturbance moves through the Southeast on Friday.
