Reports: Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton To Undergo Surgery On Foot
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will reportedly undergo surgery on his foot, according to sports reporter Tiffany Blackmon of The Athletic.
Newton has been dealing with a lingering Lisfranc injury to his left foot and has not played since week 2. He recently traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin, to consult with Dr. Robert Anderson to get a second opinion about the injury.
Newton was placed on injured reserve in the beginning of November.
Cam’s contract is up after the 2020 season. Joe Person with The Athletic thinks he will be playing somewhere else next season.
“If Cam Newton is healthy I think there’ll be a market for him. If it’s not in Charlotte it could be in another quarterback needy team,” says Person.
