Winsome Warmup Wanes Before Weekend
A weak but noticeable cold front moves through late Friday into Saturday.
We cracked the 60s for the second time in four days yesterday afternoon, thanks to prevailing winds from the southwest and plentiful sunshine. The warmer-than-average trend continues into the second half of the workweek, as temperatures should hover around 60° through early Friday evening. Enjoy the warmth while it lasts; a weak but noticeable cold front moves through overnight Friday into Saturday. While rain chances will remain relatively low with its passage, the cold front will drop temperatures nearly 10° for the weekend. Expect highs in the Piedmont and Foothills to crash back down into the upper 40s and lower 50s, while the mountains will likely struggle to get out of the 30s. Rain chances finally pop back up once again early next week.
