Sheriff: Nephew Stabs And Kills Uncle In Lancaster

LANCASTER, SC– Deputies of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home on Barbarosa Drive, Thursday to investigate a stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers found Deon Demetrius Jenkins, 50, on the kitchen floor bleeding and unresponsive.

EMS responded and treated Jenkins but he later died on the scene from his injuries.

Investigators said the home was inhabited by four generations of the Jenkins family including his mother, sister, nephew, and his great-nephew, all of whom were present when the incident occurred.

Authorities later found out Jenkins came into the home and made threatening statements, pushed his mother to the floor, pulled out two knives and threatened his mother and nephew.

Jenkins nephew then reportedly grabbed, and stabbed him with one of the knives.

The nephew was present at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He was not taken into custody.
