Two Charged With Manslaughter After Multiple Vehicle Crash

CHARLOTTE, NC– On Friday, University City division officers responded to E WT Harris Blvd in reference to a two-motor vehicle crash with injury.

Upon arrival, officers located three motor vehicles that were involved and three subjects that had sustained injury.

Jeroline Yvette Williams, was the driver of a Chevrolet Sonic that was involved in the crash and was transported to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries.

Camron Tyler Moore, was the driver of a Ford Mustang, Moore along with his passenger, Tyler Washington-Brown, were also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The third vehicle involved was a Jeep Patriot being driven by Erika Mauldin. Mauldin and her passenger, Greg Mauldin, did not sustain injury in this crash.

Due to the injuries sustained by Jeroline Williams, was later pronounced deceased by medical staff.

Police investigation showed that Williams was traveling northwest on E WT Harris Blvd and entered a center median left turn area in order to turn left onto University Ridge Dr.

While executing the left turn,  the Chevy operated by Williams was struck by the Ford Mustang operated by Moore.

After being struck by the Ford, the Chevrolet was then forced off the roadway and just prior to leaving the roadway it struck the Jeep in the right rear area.

At the time of the crash, the Jeep was making a right turn onto E WT Harris Blvd from University Ridge Dr and after striking the Chevrolet, the Ford ran off the roadway to the right and up an embankment.

While on scene, authorities say it was determined that both Moore and Charlie Molina-Calderon were operating their motor vehicles at a high rate of speed prior to the crash.

Police say that Charlie Molina-Calderon was operating a Dodge Avenger that was positioned just behind the Ford. The Dodge did not make contact with the Chevrolet or Ford but both Moore and Molina-Calderon were initially issued citations for reckless driving.

Authorities say after a review of the roadway evidence, witness statements, video evidence, and a reconstruction of the crash events, it was determined that both Moore and Molina-Calderon were driving recklessly and aggressively prior to, and during the crash.

On December 9th, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Involuntary Manslaughter for both Moore and Molina-Calderon. Both were arrested without incident.
