Panthers’ Owner Tepper, Belk Endowment Give $120,000 To Class Room Central; Tepper Noncommittal On QB Newton’s Future With Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Will Cam Newton be back? That is still the biggest question of the offseason for the Panthers.  The future of the franchise quarterback is unclear as he enters the final year of his contract.

Of course that’s because Newton missed 14 games last season with a foot injury and underwent surgery in December to repair it.

While Cam told several media outlets during Super Bowl week that he absolutely expects to be back in a Panthers uniform this season, the man who signs his paychecks remains noncommittal.

Tepper was questioned about the franchise quarterback while presenting a surprise gift to Classroom Central for Charlotte-Mecklenburg teachers.

Along with the John Belk Endowment, Tepper presented a $120,000 check  to provide supplies to 800 elementary classrooms in 17 Title I schools.  Teachers at the surprise event in the Panthers locker room said the gift is a blessing.
