Alexander County Sheriff’s Department Makes Several Significant Arrests Including Inmate Charged With Murder

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — The Alexander County Sheriff’s says they have arrested several offenders on outstanding charges including an already incarcerated suspect who is charged with First Degree Murder.

Johnathan Williams, 27, has been charged with five counts of Failing to Register Online as a Sex Offender.  He was issued a $100,000 secured bond and his court date was set for February 17th, 2020.

Timothy Carver, 30, has been charged with First Degree Murder and was not given a bond.  Carver was already in the custody of the North Carolina Department of Corrections and was not issued a bond. His court date was set for March 23rd, 2020. Carver was accused of stabbing another to death with a homemade weapon during an altercation on October 31st, 2019.  Carver was

Alexanderos Tsilianos, 35, has been charged with Felony Obstruction of Justice and being a Habitual Felon. Tsilianos was already in the custody of the North Carolina Department of Corrections and was not issued a bond.  His court date was set for March 23rd, 2020.

Kevin Barnes, 45, of Taylorsville, has been charged with one count of Felony Conspiracy, two counts of Felony Motor Vehicle Theft, one count of Identity Theft and one count of Possession of Stolen Property.  Barnes was issued a $25,000 secured bond and his court date was set for February 17th,2020.

Eric Tappan Jr., 49, of Taylorsville has been arrested as a fugitive on an extradition warrant from the state of the New jersey, who is charged with Failing to Register as a Sex Offender.  Tappan was issued a $1,000 secured bond and court and his court date was set for February 17th,2020.

All suspects are presumed to be innocent until proven guilty.
