Police: Two People Found Dead In Concord Murder-Suicide

CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Police Department is investigating a murder-suicide that happened at the Candlewood Square Condominiums Monday morning.

Officers responded to the complex just after 9am on February 17th after receiving a 911 call about a man, who was identified as 58-year-old Jeffrey Fort, standing outside his condo wearing bloodstained clothing, carrying a gun and stating that he had just shot his roommate.  Police say Fort was also threatening to shoot himself.

Upon seeing officers at the complex, police say Fort went back into his condo at which time officers reported hearing a gunshot.

No gunshots were fired by officers during the incident, according to a news release.  A short time later, officers reportedly entered the condo to find Fort and his roommate, 35-year-old Davon Williams, dead from gunshot wounds.

Police say at this point in the investigation, it has been determined that Fort and Williams were in a domestic relationship, however a reason for the shooting has not yet been determined.
