CHESTER, S.C. — The Chester Police Department says a mother was no where to be found on February 17th when her sons were discovered playing inside a stranger’s truck.
Chester Police asked the public to help identify the three-year-old boys. During the course of the investigation, detectives determined Ashley Barns was the mother of the children, according to a news release. She was located and arrested on February 18th.

Barns has been charged with two counts of unlawful neglect of a child. Officials say the children have been placed into emergency protective custody.
